You Can’t Kill RAG Week

It’s RAG week here in Galway, which is a dangerous time to be in this quiet seaside town. The event is “unofficial” now, at a cost of about €60,000 according to the Irish Independent, but that shouldn’t make you rest easy. Last year it was “unofficial,” too – and look how that turned out.

I learned my first lesson when I was here in 2010: I made the mistake of going to class – the professor didn’t make the same mistake.

Ironically, RAG societies, and their designated Rag weeks, were originally established to raise money for charity.
